Keith Fields - Minister of Music

Born on May 5, 1984 in Plymouth NC, Keith Fields got his start in the church where he began playing at the age of seven. It was in his teens that he started playing for various churches as well as local groups. After graduating high school, he attended Winston-Salem State University. While attending WSSU, he was a faithful member of the University Choir in which he was a student accompanist. After his journey at Winston-Salem State University he started to walk into a new direction with his music. He developed the skill of songwriting. This has opened many doors in which he thanks God every day. Currently he is the Minister of Music at his church and is pursuing a degree in Music at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

Musicial Style: A mixture of classic gospel that meets modern day R&B. Keith enjoys making music that you can feel, music that evokes emotions. He wants to leave the audience with the feeling of being on an emotional rollercoaster; going through moments of joy, happiness, sadness, gratefulness, and a sense of hope. Mixing the sound of old school jazz and classic gospel, with contemporary R&B and pop makes for a unique sound that only one can create. Pushing himself to the limits and practicing day after day, he continues to strive for new heights. Keeping God first and knowing that all things are made possible because of his grace and mercy, keep him grounded.

Influence: Music from all over the world has become a part of my everyday life. Listening to the different instruments and styles has all played a part in the artist that I have become today. Gospel influences include such artist as Richard Smallwood, James Hall, Ricky Dillard, Hezekiah Walker, The Clark Sisters, Donald Lawrence, Tye Tribbett and Kirk Franklin. R&B influences include Beyonce, Tamia, Luther Vandross, India Arie, and Brian McKnight. Other influences include Moses Hogan and Roland Carter.
